Wine-making
process: The grapes are separated from
the stalks, pressed and undergo the maceration
process for about 15 days in steel vats
at a given, constantly checked temperature.
At the end of it the malolactic fermentation
takes place. Maturation on the thin dregs
for the following 8 months.
Color: Intense cherry-red color with
ruby-red nuances.
Bouquet: Winy and intense, the characteristic
marasca cherry scent is remarkable.
Flavor: Having the right amount of
tannin, enveloping and warm, the typical
acidity of the vine leaves very pleasant
freshness in your mouth. The final savor
is long and clean, with a good taste-smelling
quality.
How to serve it: Serve it at 18 °
C in wide red wine glasses.
What to savor it with: The marked
acidity makes Refosco Villa Brunesca specially
suitable for cheese and meat cooked 'in
intigoli ' (different types of sauces).
Useful information: Its origins
might date back to the classical age: The
Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is the most
delicate sub-variety among the several Refoschi
del Friuli, of which the inhabitants of
Gorgo are particularly fond because of proximity
and traditions. It is a vigorous vine, elegantly-structured
, which does not fear rain and diseases
and is very suitable for the mineral composition
of our soil. Refosco was Grand-Dad Gaetano's,
the founder of Villa Brunesca, passion and
therefore could but become the leading product
of the firm, thanks to the indefatigable
commitment devoted to producing top-rate
grapes and to the will to pay homage to
those who, in the past, already thought
that wine could be the final result of a
magical interaction between man and nature. |
